How do I add a Woolworths promo code to my order?

Woolworths has a “Promo codes and discounts” field in the payment section of the online checkout, so all you have to do is enter the code here and click “Apply” to update your order.

If you’re new to shopping with Woolworths online (or it’s been a while), it’s probably worth noting that you need to log in or create an account before you can check out. But you can add to cart before that if you forget to log in (speaking from experience here).

Can I use more than one Woolworths promo code at a time?

Considering the cost of living situation, it’s a fair question. But after trying to add two different promo codes to a Woolworths order I did recently, I can confirm that you’re only allowed to add one code. So if you have a few active ones, choose whichever gives you the best value and save the other for next time.

How Woman’s Day chooses these Woolworths promo codes and deals

With over 15 years of experience between them, our deals team know more than a thing or two about finding the best promo codes and offers. To make it easy for you, we use all our sources – including searching the Woolworths website, emails, social media and even the weekly catalogues – to find them. We then test each one before it’s added here, and remove expired deals so it’s easy for you to find and use the latest and greatest deals.

Four easy ways to get more value at Woolworths

  1. Subscribe for email updates: Woolworths sometimes sends specials by email to select customers – including the occasional promo code. So it’s worth making sure you’re subscribed, or updating your account preferences.
  2. Catalogue specials: Check the weekly catalogue for up to 50% off groceries, as well as skincare, beauty and wellness brands. Sometimes you’ll also find deals on one-off household or seasonal items.
  3. Online-only discounts: The Woolworths website has a section for these exclusive specials, which can include things you’ve bought before (it’s curated when you’re logged in).
  4. Delivery Unlimited: If you usually order from Woolworths, paying for this subscription service could help you save on delivery fees. It costs $15 a month or $199 a year and gives you free delivery on all Woolworths orders over $75. You can also get a free 30-day trial if you’re a new member.

Shopping hack: How to get 10% off at Woolworths each month

Woolworths’ subscription program, Everyday Extra, gives you 10% off one Woolworths supermarket shop each month. You can use it in-store or online and get to choose when you use it, as long as the total value of your order is no more than $500.

But there is a catch (kind of): Everyday Extra costs $7 per month, or $70 per year if you pay annually.

So is it worth it? Well, if you usually spend more than $70 in a single shop at Woolworths each month, then that 10% off can cover the subscription cost.

I’ve been a member of Woolworths’ Everyday Extra for almost three years and consistently save around $20 a month just by using the 10% discount on my biggest grocery shop each month. I also use Everyday Rewards to get $10 off my shop and strategically buy things on sale to save even more.

If you spent the maximum $500 on a Woolies shop, you could save up to $50 a month – potentially up to $600 per year.

Everyday extra also earns you 2x Everyday Rewards points on your Woolworths and Big W spending, and sometimes member specials or freebies. But I find the monthly discount alone makes it worth it for me.

What about Everyday Rewards?

This is Woolworths’ free loyalty program, which gives you points on your spending that you can use to get money off a future shop or Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

You usually earn 1 point for every $1 at Woolworths, Big W and other partners when you enter your member number online or scan your member card. You can also link it  to your Woolworths online account and and accounts with partners, which makes it even easier. And every 2000 points equals $10 off a shop, or 1000 Qantas Points.

Everyday Rewards also sometimes has member specials, and if you get Everyday Extra it will be linked to your main rewards account.

How to get $10 off with Woolworths rewards

When you’re shopping online, just click on the Everyday Rewards card as your payment type and if you have reward dollars, choose how much you want to use.

In-store, scan your Everyday Rewards card and you’ll be asked if you want to use any available Everyday Rewards dollars.

Then, just pay the remaining balance with whatever method you want.

Woolworths then and now: Growth, controversy and the woman taking charge

Woolworths has been a cornerstone of the Australian retail industry for a century (celebrating 100 years last year). It started in 1924, when five enterprising Australians – Percy Christmas, Stanley Chatterton, Cecil Scott Waine, George Creed and Ernest Williams – opened the first store in Sydney’s Imperial Arcade.

These businessmen had grand plans, with Percy Christmas saying at the time “every city needs a Woolworths” (according to Woolworths Group’s history).

Fast forward to today, and Woolies has over 1000 stores across Australia and is widely known as one of the “Big Two” supermarkets, alongside rival Coles.

This competition has led to many “price war” sagas over the years. But it’s also led to public scrutiny during the cost of living crisis, including the ACCC taking Woolworths and Coles to court.

Woolworths’ former CEO Brad Banducci also made headlines in 2024 after he walked out of an interview on ABC’s Four Corners. He was CEO at the time and was facing questions about the supermarket’s pricing practices amid the rising cost of living.

When Banducci resigned as Woolworths CEO in September 2024, Amanda Bardwell made history as the first woman at the helm of Woolworths Group – and has hit the ground running.

“Customers consistently tell us they need more value from their shop, and that they expect us to do more to help,” she said in a media statement from May 2025, when Woolworths announced price drops on hundreds of essentials.

“This isn’t just a short-term promotion; it’s about lower shelf prices on the products we know customers regularly shop for, and providing genuine, lasting and dependable value they can count on.”

Whatever the next chapter is for Woolworths, we’re here for it – and not just so we can find all the best deals for you to shop.
