Where do I put the discount code on Myer?
When you go to your cart (or “Bag as Myer calls it), click on “Add a discount code” under “Order Summary”, enter the code and click “Add” to update your order.
Here’s an example of how it looks on mobile:

That’s pretty much it. The order summary will show how much you’ll save from the discount code or other deal, and you can go through the rest of the checkout steps from there.
Myer is one of my go-to shops when I want some nice things around the home or a refresh of my beauty cabinet. My most recent purchases were new pillows and beautiful iron frying pan, but I’m currently tempted by their boots selection.

Can I use multiple Myer discount codes?
If only – Myer, like most stores, only lets you use one discount code per order.
In fact, the fine print even says codes “may not be used with other offers”. So if there’s a sale on, you probably won’t be able to double up the savings. But, we’ve seen other discount codes in the past that do work on sale items, so as far as we’re concerned it never hurts to try and see what happens (or check if the code has its own T&Cs).
Does Myer have discount codes for students?
Sometimes you can find Myer discounts through free student membership programs like UNiDAYS and Student Beans. But there weren’t any active ones when I checked for this article. Our deals team is always searching though, so if one does pop up you’ll likely find it here.
Do Myer workers get a discount?
If you work at Myer, you get a 15% discount on most purchases according to details on Glassdoor.com.au. But it may change at different times of the year or for particular products.
How Woman’s Day gets the best Myer discount codes and deals
We love a good bargain, but we also know that finding one when you need it can take time. As they say, time is money, so we’ve made it easier for you by staying across Myer’s latest updates – be it email, social media, website or directly. We then choose the deals we know you’ll love (and that we’re probably shopping too), and test them all to make sure they work. And when an offer ends, it’s taken down, so you’re only ever clicking on the real deal.
A not-so-secret (but very handy) way to get more value at Myer
Myer’s loyalty program, MYER One, is another great way to get special offers, discounts and other occasional perks (early access to sales, anyone?).
As a member, you get 2 Credits for every $1 spent at Myer and earn a $10 Reward for every 1000 Credits. You also get a yearly $10 Birthday Gift, which jumps up to $15-$30 if you’re a Silver, Gold or Platinum member (based on how much you spend).
There’s also the occasional exclusive offer. For example, earlier this year I got an offer for a $20 eVoucher if I spent at least $150 during Myer’s sale period at the time.

It’s also free to join, and only takes a couple of minutes.
Three more tips to get the biggest bang for your buck
- Check out “gift with purchase” beauty buys: This is a great way to get something extra with beauty brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Coach and SK-II. You’ll usually get the gift when you spend over a set amount or buy a particular item with the brand, so it’s great if you’re already eye-ing off some new products.
- Shop the clearance section: Myer has just about every category covered in its online clearance section – and the discounts are good. To give you an idea, I found savings of up to 70% across fashion, beauty and home items when I was writing this article.
- Points + Pay: If you’re part of Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program, you can use points to pay for some or all of your Myer purchase. It’s not the most valuable way to use points (reward flights usually take that honour), but it’s handy if you want to keep more in the bank. You can also use Points + Pay if you have a credit card linked to American Express Membership Rewards or CommBank Awards.
When are the best Myer sales?
If you want the biggest Myer discounts, add Black Friday, Boxing Day and EOFY to your calendar because we’ve found these major sale events are when Myer really pulls out all the stops.
For example, last Black Friday, you could save $115.60 on a Fossil Raquel watch, $171 on a Dyson Airwrap and an impressive $580 on a Dyson Gen5detect Absolute vacuum cleaner (among other things).
Beyond that, you’ll find great deals during other sales, like Click Frenzy and Afterpay Day, not to mention Myer’s own seasonal sales.
We also update the deals here regularly, so there’s no need to worry if you miss out on the big sale events (and we help cut through the noise if you’re shopping at those times too.
Myer’s story
Myer has always been about “quality, service and value”, which pretty much sums up my general experience in the store (although “value” is easier when there’s a sale or discount code).
But beyond that, the Australian department store has had quite the journey.
It was founded in 1900 in Bendigo by brothers Elcon and Sidney Myer, whose name art lovers might also recognise from the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. They both came from overseas, and Sidney was pretty much broke when he got to Australia, according the Myer Foundation website. He went on to become a renowned businessman and philanthropist, driving much of the Myer department store success and jet-setting around for business and family life until his untimely death in Melbourne in 1934, aged 56.
But the department store he and his brother started has become an iconic part of the Australian retail landscape. During the 20th century, Myer opened over 50 locations, including Melbourne Emporium. The store also bought Grace Bros (a fun fact for trivia nights), and inked the largest deal in Australian corporate history at the time when it merged with Coles in 1983.
In the early 2000s, Myer went public (on the stock exchange) after being bought by an international consortium run by US private equity group Newbridge Capital.
Around this time, rivalry between Myer and David Jones really heated up. Both of them signed high profile ambassadors to be the “face” of their stores – Myer had model and Miss Universe 2004 winner Jennifer Hawkins, while David Jones had supermodel Megan Gale (and does again now).
Jennifer Hawkins and Myer went their separate ways in 2018. But she’s still the brand’s longest-running ambassador, and probably the most remembered too.
These days, brand ambassadors aren’t as big of a thing. Instead, Myer’s gone in a new direction with the launch of The Myer Group in 2025. This network of 783 department and specialty stores in Australia and New Zealand includes fashion brands Sass & Bide, Marcs, David Lawrence, Just Jeans, Jay Jays, Jacqui E, Portmans and Dotti.
