Your guide to Europcar discount codes and deals
There’s nothing quite like driving around a new place, whether it’s interstate or international roads. But the cost of car hire can be expensive (speaking from experience), so here we’ve rounded up the best Europcar discount code offers, along with other deals, that can help your money go further.
How to use a Europcar discount code
- Add the code: Click on “Add a coupon code” (it’s after the driver details and before payments), enter the code and hit the “Add coupon code” button to update your booking.
- Click on a deal: You’ll get key details of the offer and any discount code, and a new window will open so you can head straight to Europcar.
- Plan your trip: Enter the details of where and when you want to hire the car, choose your vehicle and follow the prompts to start the booking. You’ll go through details of the vehicle, protections and extras before getting to the “Review” section where you can add the discount code.

What is the RACV discount for Europcar?
RACV members get up to 20% off car hire with Europcar in Australia and New Zealand, and up to 15% off for other international destinations. You just need to enter your RACV details and book through https://partners.europcar.com.au/racv.
You can also get a Europcar discount as a member of RACQ, RAA, AANT, RACT and RAC.
What is the discount rate for Europcar loyalty members?
Europcar’s Privilege For You loyalty program gives you 10% off rentals throughout the year. You can get this discount when you hire a car in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, US, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria and Switzerland – giving you plenty of places to save.
Privilege For You membership also gives you up to 15% off at Accor hotels and a range of other perks including:
- Rewards points for your spending, which unlock more benefits
- Exclusive discounts
- Complementary free vehicle upgrades (upon availability)
- Priority service for faster vehicle pick-up
- Surprise rewards
- Value-off coupons
The more points – and the higher your membership level – the more benefits you get. But even at the entry level of “Discoverer” you get 10% off car hire and up to 15% off at Accor hotels, which can both be valuable discounts.

More ways to get a Europcar discount (or extra value)
- Sign up for the newsletter: You can get up to 20% off your first booking after subscribing. Plus special offers, exclusive discounts and other news.
- Check for partner deals: Europcar’s partnerships with Accor, and the frequent flyer programs linked with Virgin Australia, Emirates, Qatar and Singapore Airlines mean you can earn points and get other benefits – like exclusive member discounts. For example, the Europcar website says Qatar Airways Privilege Club members get “exclusive discounts on car rentals”.
- Book with frequent flyer points: If you’re a member of Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program you can use points to pay for part or all of your Europcar rental, with a minimum of 2000 points. You also earn Velocity Points on Europcar hire – so make sure you enter your frequent flyer number on bookings.
I always sign up for frequent flyer and loyalty programs to make the most of points and member perks that can help me save on travel costs. With Europcar, you can basically pick and choose, or even double dip on benefits because they have their own loyalty program as well as partnerships with Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer and Accor Hotels ALL, among others.

Is Europcar owned by Hertz?
Europcar is not owned by Hertz, which is one of their biggest rivals. Europcar is owned by Green Mobility Holding, which is a consortium made up of Volkswagen, Attestor and Pon Holdings. Hertz, on the other hand, is owned by Hertz Global Holdings – which also owns Thrifty, Dollar Car Rental and Firefly Car Rental.
In Australia, Europcar competes with Hertz brands, as well as Avis, Budget and local players in terms of both convenience and corporate fleets. With around 125 locations in Australia, and a vast network overseas, Europcar is definitely one of the major players in car hire. The fact that its loyalty program gives you 10% off here and in plenty of popular countries to visit doesn’t hurt, either.
